Ok, so the previous sections have covered lighting design and lighting the different areas so you have probably mapped out your requirements and put together a complete design. The first of the practicalities you will come across is electricity and how it is distributed. Is there wiring nearby? Is it easily modifiable? Will the wires support the demands of your new system?

The business of making these modifications, installation, insulation, electrical components and accessories are necessary to put together your system but while you might understand them electricity is very dangerous and at least be treated with respect and in most circumstances you should let a licensed electrician do the work. It's tempting to do the simple bits yourself but many people die each year doing it themselves so get a professional.
